Stand With Mark Miller
Mark Miller created waves on the plenary floor of General Conference on Wednesday, April 26th. His words generated a "Stand with Mark" campaign that went viral (#standwithmark) almost immediately. Afterwards, in the closing worship service, Bishop Robert Hoshibata preached about the healing power of love, saying he wanted "the church to include ALL, whomever they love." Over 200 supporters of full inclusion left worship early and stood outside in silent protest as a reminder that LGBT people are an active part of the UMC, despite its policies.
